Dallas-native Chantel Langlinais Carlson is a playwright, poet, and lover of nature photography. Her one-act plays, Six Feet Apart and The Exhibit, were published by Next Stage Press, and her dramatic scene "Distance" was published in Writing Texas. In addition, her poetry has appeared in The Southern Poetry Anthology VIII: Texas, Writing Texas, Anti-Heroin Chic, Snapdragon: A Journal of Art and Healing, TEJASCOVIDO, and Unlocking the Word: An Anthology of Found Poetry. Her poetry chapbook, Turning 25, was published by Nous-zot Press. She received her Master's Degree and Ph.D. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
She currently teaches creative writing and performance studies in the English Department at Texas Christian University and lives in Arlington with her husband and step-children. Not a year goes by that she doesn't make a trip to Cajun Country for fresh boudin and walks down the bayou (and the occasional run for Mardi Gras beads).
